It took place on December 4, 2016, at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas. This was the eighth event under the TLC: Tables, Ladders and Chairs chronology. Seven matches were contested at the event, including one match on the pre-show. In the main event, AJ Styles defeated Dean Ambrose in a Tables, Ladders and Chairs match to retain the WWE World Championship.
